Français II

French II 2017-2018

This year, we will continue to master Level One skills in French and provides opportunities to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in an integrated way. We will continue to practice how to greet and take leave of someone, to ask and respond to basic questions, and to speak and read within a range of carefully selected topics. This course provides opportunities to increase understanding of French-speaking cultures.

My teaching goals for 17-18:

Create a nonthreatening learning environment where all students will learn to their full potential and exceed standards. Emphasize oral communication skills used in normal daily activities through oral interviews, quizzes, tests, and performance of students produced vignettes.

Parents’ role:

Insist that your student work on his or her French homework if it is specifically assigned or, if homework is not specifically assigned, study or review the day's material presented in class for 15-30 minutes each evening. Homework prepares for quizzes and provides feedback so I can teach more effectively. You can help your student learn the week’s vocabulary by learning it together.

Expectations:

Attendance, punctuality, preparation, homework, behavior, and mutual respect contribute in a major way to overall success in mastering French II. I, like the administrators of Lakeside High School, insist on these points.
